Hi — I'm Nick, the one-person shop behind NorthBurnGoods. I run this as a solo handmade business in Wisconsin, from design to engraving to packaging.
Every board is made to order. Not mass-produced, not pulled from a warehouse, and not treated like a generic gift. When someone orders, I make that board specifically for them — which is also why the personalization can still be changed right up until it goes on the laser.
The goal is simple: create custom gifts that feel thoughtful, look elevated, and still arrive fast enough to be practical for real occasions. A wedding you were invited to three weeks ago. A housewarming this weekend. A closing gift for a client who just got their keys.
Why buy here rather than on Etsy
Both work, and both reach the same bench. Ordering directly on this site means you can see the engraving laid out before you pay, the personalization comes to me without passing through a listing form, and more of what you spend stays with the shop that made the board. The Etsy shop is still there if that is where you would rather buy — and it is the right choice for international orders.
What I will not do
I do not keep stock of engraved boards, so nothing is ever "already made" in someone else's name. I do not outsource the engraving. And I would rather tell you a board will not arrive in time than take the order and hope.
